This Drachten, Friesland based company manufactures the diesel engine based power generation system, as distributed world wide by Mastervolt. Two sets – a 25 kVA “day” genset and a 6 kVA “night” set will power the AC system.

Until now, Mastervolt has not needed a demonstration boat to test their equipment. But their extended portfolio, comprising bus systems and shore & generator power support systems and various interfacing features with other on board systems, makes it very desirable to be able to install and test products in their pure environment.

This UK based company is a world leader in the field of navigation equipment for pleasure craft. They are extending their portfolio with satellite TV, entertainment systems and various other products. Raymarine has provided the entire navigation and communication electronics and the satellite TV system for the MY INDEPENDENCE.

This famous Dutch shipyard is located in Friesland. They started originally as builders of commercially used fishing boats, made from steel. When the IJsselmeer was turned into a lake after closing the Afsluitdijk in 1931, the Fishing Fleet reduced dramatically. In the 70’s the company started to build pleasure craft, the famous Staverse Kotter, a 10metre motor sailer. Auke van der Werff, the current owner, took the business over from his father some years ago and started to build larger sized luxury yachts, the Sturier range. With this model range, they now offer a top-of – the range quality yacht,  built under A Class, suitable for navigating sea and ocean. Nowadays they build 6-8 yachts per year for mainly Dutch, French, English, Italian and German customers. We chose this boat yard because of their “quality” image, their cooperative attitude, their flexibility and their sponsorship. They will use the project to expose their product.

VETUS is a well known brand and one of the few Dutch marine brands with an established world wide distribution. We have selected a range of premium products such as their latest toilet systems, many system components and the 2 Vetus/Deutz 210 HP propulsion engines.

NEFF , a subsidiary of Bosch Germany, is an ‘A’ brand product in the field of sophisticated kitchen equipment. We want to equip INDEPENDENCE with the latest NEFF equipment such as a combined oven/ steam cooker, an intelligent inductive hob, low energy dishwasher and washer/dryer. NEFF understands they have opportunities in the marine market, where they have no activities so far. Active partner in this project is the Dutch importer Willem van Rijn BV.

This British company is a world leader in the fi eld of winches, anchoring systems, steering systems, port lights etc. They will provide the winch, the anchor and the anchor chain.

This is a relatively young company, based in California, USA. They have proved to be the most innovative watermaker company by offering a high quality – high capacity product combined with extremely low energy consumption. Their systems operate on 24 or 12 VDC.

BOOMSMA, based in Almere, is the supplier of GEBO WINDOWS. They have developed a new stainless steel window range, with a shiny touch. Their reputation is absolutely top of the range, the GEBO product is very well known world wide. We have chosen to install a 2 x 2 metre sliding hatch in the roof of the deckhouse, manufactured by Hollandia Roof Systems, a subsidiary of Webasto Germany.

ASA BOOT ELEKTRO is a well known company, specializing in distribution of electrical components and varous technical products in the Benelux. ASA is the sole representative of Sidepower thruster systems, Torqeedo Electrical Outboards, Philippi products and many other brands, which includes Mastervolt.

ORANGE NAUTICAL SERVICES is one of the leading Dutch service companies, specializing in storage and maintenance of mid- and large sized sailing and motor yachts. The company is based in Zaandam, appr 15 minutes from Amsterdam, close to the locks of Ijmuiden. The company offers winter storage facility (over 250 boats) and extended retrofit facilities related to any mechanical or estitical aspect of a yacht.

The NaviOP's head office is located in FoRlì, Italy, near some of the most important nautical companies.

This Italian high class company provides navigation systems that inherits a 30 years old technological know-how in the field of integrated control, and based on the main international industrial standard. In close cooperation with Whisper Power BV, Naviop has developed the new Whisper “Touch” generator control panel which is compatible with Webasto airconditioning systems. In MY INDEPENDENCE the first combined touch screen panel (8.4 inch) has been installed, many installations will follow.
