Stabilizers
A Naiad Dynamics model 320 system is fitted to optimise the stability of the yacht at sea. Even under rough circumstances the boat will remain balanced. Whatever the size of the vessel, there is little worse when at sea than those disconcerting and queasy rolling motions. As well as being unpleasant for all on board, excessive movement also makes a yacht or ship very difficult to steer. Rolling can be greatly reduced through the use of fin- or trim-tab stabilizer systems. But for smooth sailing through stern quartering seas, and comfortable cruising in all types of weather, there is only one real option – fitting hydraulic stabilizers. For more information click here

Inflattable - Tender boat
A high class inflattable tender has been selected of the brand Bolero (www.bolero-bootswerft.de) after some positive comments of mr Harald Paul, the famous long distance cruiser. Important is the choice of material: in stead of rubber, HYPALON material has been applied, with 5 layers and a strength of 1100-1690 D-Tex). This rugged boat is UV radiation resistable, offering a long life. A wooden cover of the soft underwater ship is offering much more comfort to the passengers and a good base to install the batteries which are necessary to power the electric outboard. Dimensions of the boat: 3,10 mtrs long, model Bolero 340 P/ short version. In stead of a traditional outboard, a powerful electric outboard has been selected, provided by ASA Boot Elektro of the Netherlands. The most powerful Torquedo, with 2 kW power, together with a 85 Ah 24 V Mastervolt AGM battery set, will operate as the main propulsion source for the tender. Clean, trouble free, no irritating exhaust fumes and no repeating starting attempts…. and. last but not least, with little audible noise.

Winslow liferaft in case of emergency at sea
I have slected a WINSLOW® LifeRaft, made in the USA. This company claims to builds the world's best marine and aviation life rafts. In various publications they confirm Winslow Marine and Aviation Super-Light™ and Ultra-Light™ life rafts have been rated #1 in every independent life raft evaluation in which they have been included. I have selected the 6 person Ocean Recue, fitted with all the necessary equipment to stay alive and floating: survical food packages, a watermaker (Pur 06), a Boarding ladder, a ballast system to position the raft in an optimum way, Epirb etc. Description in brief:The WINSLOW is constructed with ten equal sides, resulting in a more rounded shape than an octagon or hexagon, but without the integral weakness found in true round life rafts. The ten, double reinforced, hand mitered sections add rigidity and strength over round and even an octagon shape. The decagonal shape gives the WINSLOW far greater stability in rough seas. Square and rectangular are not nearly as rigid or seaworthy and oblong or rectangular shapes are particularly dangerous, prone to broaching and capsizing, particularly if the sea anchor is mis-deployed, fails or is lost.

Opacmare hydraulic gangway
Many aspects of the MY INDEPENDENCE have been designed with the important thought in mind the yacht will navigate a lot in the Med area. Mooring are totally different compared with Norther Europe. In most cased, the boat will have to be parked in a box with the stern backwards. The presnence of a strong and steady gangway is obligatory to debark. The yard has selected an Opacmare hydraulic gangway of appr three meters long, which can be operated through the remote control. When not in use the gangway wil be parked in the garage of the stern of the boat. It si made of three sections: one rotating and one extending with variable inclination, that includes the third telescopic element. Structure, stanchions and turret made of polished AISI 316 stainless steel. Loading capacity 160 kg.
